Our Sheep Broke Into the Chicken Coop (And Took It Over)

One of those “only on a mini farm” moments happened today… and it was too good not to share.

I walked outside earlier than usual and immediately noticed something was off — all of the chickens were already free-ranging. That’s not how our mornings normally go.

So of course, I went to check on the coop.

And that’s when I saw it.

Dolly was inside the chicken pen.

Not near it. Not looking at it. Inside it.

She had somehow busted her way through and made herself completely at home.

At that point, I wasn’t even sure how she got in — but I knew I wasn’t about to make her bust her way back out. So I went ahead and opened the door so she could leave the normal way.

Problem solved… or so I thought.

When One Sheep Turns Into Four

Later on, I went back out to check everything again…

And this time it wasn’t just Dolly.

Beulah, Marlene, and Darlene had all joined her.

All four of them were just casually hanging out in the chicken coop like they had always lived there.

The chickens? Now fully committed to free-range life.

Apparently once Dolly figured out how to get in, it became the place to be.

Life on a Mini Farm

This is pretty much how life goes on a small farm — you fix one thing, and five minutes later something else is happening that you didn’t plan for.

But honestly, these are the moments that make it fun.

The personalities, the chaos, the “how did you even do that?” situations — it’s all part of it.

And now… I have a chicken coop to fix.
