Dana’s Florida Getaways
Dana’s Florida Getaways began with a simple idea: create comfortable, welcoming places where travelers could slow down, settle in, and feel at home while visiting Central Florida.
What started with one small rental has grown into four different stays near The Villages and Wildwood, along with local travel resources designed to help guests enjoy the area rather than simply find a place to sleep.
Built Around Real Life
We have been married for more than 25 years and have raised — and are still raising — a family of seven children. Hospitality here grew naturally out of a life centered around home, family, hard work, and creating spaces where people feel comfortable.
That is still how we approach the rentals today. We want them to feel cared for, practical, and personal — not like anonymous units managed from far away.
A Quiet Place to Land
Some guests are here for a weekend getaway. Others are visiting family, attending a wedding, relocating, working temporarily in the area, or stopping during a longer Florida trip.
Different Stays for Different Trips
Our four rentals range from a tiny-home cottage and private guest suite to a fenced-yard studio and a 2-bedroom home suited to longer stays.
A Slower Side of Central Florida
The Villages, Wildwood, Brownwood, restaurants, shopping, and major highways are close, but the atmosphere around our properties is quieter than a busy hotel corridor.
At the mini-farm property, guests may see sheep, garden beds, fruit trees, and the changing seasons of a working home landscape. Cozy Corner Apartment and Cozy Corner Home are next door, so they have their own private setting while still being connected to the larger Dana’s Florida Getaways story.
We are not trying to create a large commercial resort. The goal is something smaller, warmer, and more personal.
Growing the Mini-Farm & Food Forest
One of our long-term goals is to keep developing the mini-farm and food forest with fruit trees, gardens, shade, flowers, and spaces that support birds and pollinators.
It is a gradual project built over time rather than something we expect to finish all at once. Guests who return may notice new trees, changing gardens, or different parts of the property taking shape.
Some visitors have chosen to support that project by sponsoring a tree, but support is always optional. The larger goal is simply to keep creating a peaceful, living landscape that feels meaningful to us and enjoyable for guests.

More Than a Rental Website
Dana’s Florida Getaways is also becoming a local travel resource for people visiting this part of Central Florida. We want guests to be able to find a place to stay, figure out where to eat, discover something fun to do, and understand the area without having to piece everything together from dozens of websites.
That means continuing to build useful guides around The Villages, Wildwood, Coleman, Lake Panasoffkee, Bushnell, Leesburg, Ocala, and nearby communities — while keeping the recommendations practical and relevant to real travelers.
