Dana’s Florida Getaways • Mini-Farm & Garden Project
One of our long-term dreams for Dana’s Florida Getaways is to keep building a peaceful food forest filled with fruit trees, edible plants, flowers, shade, and habitat for birds and pollinators.
It is a slow, hands-on project that will grow a little at a time. Some guests and friends have asked whether there is a way to be part of it, so we created this page for anyone who would like to help. Support is always optional and never expected.
What We’re Building
The goal is not to create a large commercial farm. We want to build a living landscape that becomes more useful, beautiful, and established with each passing year.
Fruit & Edible Plants
Fruit trees, berry bushes, herbs, and other edible plants that can become part of the property over time.
Shade & Habitat
Trees, flowers, and natural plantings that create shade and support birds, butterflies, bees, and other pollinators.
Healthier Soil
Mulch, compost, soil amendments, and other materials that help new plantings establish and grow.
A Place That Changes With Time
Something returning guests can watch develop as trees mature, gardens change, and new areas take shape.
What Contributions Can Help With

We use contributions where they are most useful for the food forest and garden project at that time.
Simple Ways to Participate
You can contribute any amount you like. If it helps to picture what different amounts may support, here are a few examples:
- $15 — Help with mulch, compost, soil, or garden supplies
- $35 — Help purchase a berry bush or smaller edible plant
- $75 — Help purchase and establish a fruit tree
- $150 — Help with a larger planting or several food-forest needs
These are examples rather than fixed sponsorship packages. Plant prices and project needs change, so your contribution may support whichever part of the food forest needs it most.

A Living Part of Dana’s Florida Getaways
The mini-farm and food forest are not separate from the rest of Dana’s Florida Getaways. They are part of the larger vision of creating peaceful, useful spaces that feel personal and connected to the land.
Guests staying at Suite Escape and Hidden Gem are on the mini-farm property itself. Cozy Corner Apartment and Cozy Corner Home are next door, and farm visits can sometimes be arranged by request.
